Resiliency is the process of adapting creatively in the face of stress and trauma. Playful connection to plant medicines can support us in that process.
Join clinical herbalist Mel Kasting, RH (AHG) for this hands-on sensory workshop.
In the first half of class, we will cover basic nervous system physiology and the human stress response, before defining resiliency as a group and discussing the complex myriad of things (physical, biological, societal and life experiences) that affect our capacity for resilience in the face of stressful situations.
We will then dive deep into a discussion about the role of herbs and nutrients for resiliency building and explore the role sensory experiencing intersects herbal medicine to create deep healing anchors in stressful situations.
The second half of the workshop will culminate in a somatic formulation exercise leaning, deeply into the wisdom of our bodies and using blind sensory experiencing to connect with the plants. We will be tasting teas and tinctures as time allows.
You will leave armed with new herbal allies and tools to deal with stressful life situations.
$40 per person
Please note that masks are required for the class, but they can be removed when participants are tasting teas and tinctures. Thank you for understanding and for helping us to create a safer, more accessible space for our community.
